Alambique is a hidden gem in the heart of Medellin, a rooftop laboratory, kitchen, and bar filled with an abundance of flavors, aromas, and stories. My tinder date and I were impressed by how the wooden interior, different chairs, and clutter of ornaments created a cozy and vintage ‘living room’ atmosphere that is so rare to find in trendy rooftop bars. The lush and charming oasis that Alambique provides was a welcome relief from the hectic and vibrant city below.

Though the terrace doesn’t offer a grand city view, it more than makes up for it by serving great cocktails and excellent food in a friendly and vibrant atmosphere. We were lucky enough to catch live music on the night we visited, which added to the already fantastic ambiance.

The menu boasts an exciting selection of Latin American dishes, all creatively crafted and delicious. We were blown away by the innovative cocktail selection, which was equally impressive. However, don’t be discouraged by the smaller double doors painted light blue; behind them lies a staircase leading up to the art gallery and from there, some more stairs leading up to Alambique.
