What to wear for Tjing Tjing Rooftop in Cape Town? Dress Code for men and women

Tjing Tjing Rooftop bar is the place to see and be seen in Cape Town. My friends and I had a blast checking out this trendy, stylish and super trendy cocktail lounge, and we were not disappointed.

The 200-year-old scarlet-red and wood building has been restored and renovated to perfection, with Tjing Tjing Torii (street-food Japanese) and Tjing Tjing Momiji (fine-dining Japanese) taking up the lower floors. Once we made our way up to the top, we were greeted by the stunning Tjing Tjing rooftop bar.

The outside rooftop terrace was just what we needed to unwind after a long day. The natural colors, comfy lounge sofas, and clean contrast were a welcoming sight. The inside attic was dark, but the well-made cocktails with a Japanese touch like the ‘Tokyo Rose’, ‘Sake Sour’ or ‘Lost in Translation’ more than made up for it.

We also loved the craft beers and tasty Japanese bites that perfectly complemented the drinks. The ambience was casual but trendy, with indie and electronica favourites playing in the background. The rooftop bar is open afternoon / nightly (Tue-Sat), making it the perfect spot for a group of friends to chill and have some fun.

The opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays are from 16.00 – close, so we had plenty of time to enjoy the rooftop bar. The address is at 165 Longmarket Street, City Centre, Cape Town, so it’s very convenient to find.
