During a recent business trip, my boyfriend and I were lucky enough to visit Gondolen, one of Stockholm’s most classic restaurants. Although the restaurant was closed for renovations during our visit, we were still able to enjoy the rooftop bar, Taket at Gondolen.

The view from the terrace was truly breathtaking, overlooking the charming Old Town, Gröna Lund amusement park, and the lovely lake Mälaren. It was truly a sight to behold and made for an unforgettable experience. We were also able to observe the ongoing restoration of the Slussen area, which while not always the most relaxing scene, was nevertheless fascinating to watch.

The rooftop bar at Gondolen was a true delight as well. The well-crafted signature cocktails were a highlight, as were the beer on draught, wine, bubbles and classic Swedish dishes. And let’s not forget the live DJs and music – they really set the tone for a classic Swedish summer atmosphere.

The service was friendly and welcoming, making for a truly enjoyable experience overall. Although the restaurant is set to reopen in August 2022, we were fortunate to witness the 27th season of Taket at Gondolen. It’s no wonder this spot is a classic Stockholm rooftop bar, and one worth visiting for travelers and locals alike.
