As a couple who loves discovering new places, my girlfriend and I decided to visit Centropa, an European restaurant, café and rooftop bar located at Oslo’s new main library, Deichman Bjørvika. The stylish interior restaurant downstairs was impressive, but we were more interested in the lovely rooftop bar and café.
We enjoyed the beautiful views over the water and the famous Oslo Opera House from the spacious rooftop terrace. Although it wasn’t sky-high, the atmosphere was still incredible. The terrace is perfect to enjoy a glass of wine or champagne while munching on small bites. We found the selection of wine, champagne and beers to be impressive, and the rooftop bar was the perfect spot to relax after a long day of exploring the city.
We appreciated the fact that Centropa invites visitors to “come as you are,” making the experience more laid-back and approachable. The opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 12.30 – 23.30 made it a perfect spot for a date night or catch up with friends.
My girlfriend also enjoyed the European-inspired menu offered in the restaurant. She appreciated the option to choose from a variety of lunch dishes from different countries, or to have an á la carte dinner with local flavours. We found the food to be delicious and the portions were just the right size.

The stunning rooftop bar and café, delicious food and impressive selection of drinks made our visit a memorable one. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a sophisticated and relaxing evening out.
