I had the pleasure of celebrating my best friend’s birthday at Doñaluz, a chic rooftop bistro that offers global food and crafted drinks. The place is an old-fashioned terrace, but its architecture and jaw-dropping views of the Madrid skyline are truly charming. The South American inspired decor and food make it a unique spot in Madrid. Located on top of B&B Hotel Madrid Centro Puerta del Sol, the rooftop is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed conversation alongside your food and drinks.

The entrance is easy to miss, giving the place a sense of privacy that is hard to find in the city center. The restaurant mixes Mediterranean flavors with international touches, while the rooftop bar offers everything from beer and wine to spirits, but what sets it apart are its South American inspired cocktails that are truly one of a kind.

The rooftop is open year-round thanks to both indoor lounge and heaters, making it the perfect spot for both relaxing afternoon drinks and a casual and fun dinner with friends. We had a great time enjoying the views while sipping on some of the best cocktails we’ve ever had. The opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays are from 13.00 – 01.00, so you can party late into the night.

My friends and I were blown away by the chic decor and sophisticated atmosphere. The food and drinks were exceptional, and the service was top-notch. The rooftop is spacious, making it perfect for large groups, and the seating arrangements allowed us to have our own private space to celebrate my friend’s birthday.

If you are looking for a unique rooftop experience in Madrid, Doñaluz should be at the top of your list. Everything from the food to the atmosphere is perfect, and you won’t find a better spot to celebrate with friends. I highly recommend it!
