What to wear for Skylight Tobacco Dock in London? Dress Code for men and women

Skylight London rooftop bar at Tobacco Dock is, without a doubt, one of the most happening places to be in the city. My girlfriend and I, along with some of our closest friends, had the pleasure of experiencing this adult playground just last week. As we made our way to the rooftop, we were greeted by the most stunning views of the London skyline. From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for an unforgettable experience.

What used to be an old car park has been transformed into a three-level indoor/outdoor rooftop bar. It offers an array of games, including croquet, petanque, and table tennis, perfect for a summer’s day out with friends. As avid sports fans, it was a delight to watch the major events on the large screens provided. The rooftop also hosts fantastic parties with different DJ collectives, which truly raised the atmosphere to new heights.

Skylight rooftop bar has an excellent selection of street food and beverages, from cocktails to beers and wines, served at different stalls throughout the rooftop. The feel and look of the rooftop is reminiscent of a classic British garden party, but with a modern twist. In between games, we were able to sit back and relax in one of the opulent day beds or the lush garden booths. We were fortunate enough to reserve one of the sought-after beds, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

The igloos and Europe’s only rooftop skating rink with real ice are a perfect addition to the rooftop bar during the colder months. It is a great spot for a Christmas party, along with warming wintry cocktails, beers, ciders, and restorative mulled wine. The opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays are from 12:00 – 23:00. While walk-ins are welcome, it is advisable to book the beds and booths in advance.

Dress to Impress at Skylight London Rooftop Bar

As a fashion expert, I know that dressing up for a rooftop bar can be tricky. But at Skylight London, you can elevate your style game while enjoying the top features of this rooftop hotspot.

For women, I recommend going for a chic yet comfortable look. A flowy sundress paired with strappy sandals and a statement clutch will make you look effortlessly stylish. You can also opt for high-waisted shorts and a crop top, accessorized with trendy sunglasses and layered jewelry. Top it off with a light cardigan, as the weather can be unpredictable.

For men, a smart-casual attire is perfect for Skylight London. A crisp shirt paired with tailored shorts or pants, and loafers or boat shoes, will make you look sharp and comfortable. You can also go for a polo shirt and chinos, matched with a leather belt and a watch. Don’t forget to bring a light jacket, as the temperature can drop in the evening.

When it comes to shoes, women can choose between heeled sandals or flats, depending on their comfort level. For men, loafers or boat shoes are a stylish yet practical option. And for accessories, women can add a pop of color with a statement necklace or earrings, while men can wear a leather bracelet or a classy tie clip.

As for fashion brands, I recommend Zara, Topshop, and Mango for women, and Ted Baker, Reiss, and AllSaints for men. These brands offer a mix of trendy and timeless pieces that will make you stand out at Skylight London.
