Devereaux is an absolute must-go for anyone seeking a bougie and luxurious rooftop experience in Chicago. My best friends and I recently visited this chic and intimate rooftop bar and lounge, perched on the 18th floor of the fantastic Viceroy Chicago in the Gold Coast area of the city.

As soon as we arrived, we were captivated by the unobstructed views of Chicago’s skyline and Lake Michigan. The year-round indoor lounge is stylish enough on its own, but the true gem is the seasonal outdoor terrace. We were blown away by the poolside rooftop lounge, something of a rarity in Chicago, which truly became the go-to spot for summertime vibes with the glittering blue lighting reflecting off the pool.

The Devereaux terrace offers a combination of comfortable sun loungers, modern white furniture, high-top tables, and some of the most amazing views over the Gold Coast skyline and Lake Michigan. We spent hours chilling poolside, sipping on crafted signature cocktails, like ‘The Devereaux Daiquiri’, local brews, wine, and indulging in the small plates created by Chef Lee Wolen.

We visited the Devereaux rooftop during the daytime, enjoying cool and relaxing hours under the Chicago sun. We also returned at night for cocktails and bites, when the venue turned into a swanky rooftop lounge. We made sure to keep in mind that the nightly Devereaux dress code is smart casual, and since the terrace is quite limited in space, we made sure to arrive early.
