Angel Roofbar & Dining – A Rooftop Oasis with a View
Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting Angel Roofbar & Dining with my girlfriend and my parents. Set atop the Hotel Calimala in the heart of Florence, this multi-level rooftop oasis is a hidden gem that should not be missed.
Upon arriving, we were immediately swept away by the breathtaking panoramic views of Florence from the lush rooftop terrace. The 360º view included all the famous landmarks and the picturesque Tuscany hills in the horizon. It was truly beautiful, day through night. The floral garden patio and plunge pool added to the serene ambiance, making it a perfect spot to relax and unwind.
The integration of indoor and outdoor spaces was seamless, and the design elements were exquisite. The local terracotta, finely worked bronze, wrought iron and white marble added a touch of sophistication and elegance to the space. The rooftop is split into two indoor and outdoor bars, offering different experiences to suit every mood.
The food menu was a delightful mix of the best Italian traditions, revisited in a modern way and sprinkled with international touches. The signature cocktails and fine selection of wines from the rooftop bar were exceptional. The live DJ sets on weekend nights under the terrace lights and starry Florence sky added to the lively ambiance.
My girlfriend was particularly impressed with the floral garden patio, which was a perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks. My mother loved the indoor restaurant with its elegant decor and impeccable service. My father, on the other hand, couldn’t stop raving about the stunning view from the rooftop terrace.
If you’re in Florence, a visit to Angel Roofbar & Dining is a must. While it is still fairly undiscovered, reservations are recommended (and during 2021 required). The rooftop’s several terraces can also be reserved for private events. The opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays are from 17.00 – 00.00. We highly recommend this rooftop oasis and cannot wait to return soon.
