Magic Hour is the ultimate rooftop bar and lounge for anyone looking for a fun, colorful and vibrant space, with an ‘urban amusement park’ concept and epic Empire State Building views. My friends and I were blown away by the spaciousness of the venue, located on the 18th floor of the MOXY NYC Times Square, right by Times Square.
The rooftop deck is divided into several different spaces, all equally inviting and unique. The elegant and garden-like east side offers a breathtaking view of the Empire State Building, while the west side is more carnival-esque, with a slowly rotating carousel-seating area. The most amazing space, Foreplay, is tucked away in a corner, and features a miniature putt-putt course with large-size animals instead of windmills. It was the perfect place for us to let loose and have fun like kids again.
Magic Hour holds an electric and vibrant atmosphere, suitable for for groups of friends looking for fun days and nights out. Live DJs, performances and themed parties are on the schedule every week. We loved the signature cocktails, and the full menu of ‘curiosities’, spirits served in all forms and shapes, made perfect to share. The bottle service of spirits, bubbles and wines, along with a few light bites, was also impressive.
For brunch lovers, the weekend rooftop brunch is a must-visit. The pancakes, eggs, sandwiches and cold pressed juices are mixed with Magic Mimosas and cocktails. We were impressed by the variety and quality of the food offered, which complemented the lively atmosphere of the rooftop perfectly.
The dress code at Magic Hour is dressy (no shorts or sandals after 9pm) and it is a 21+ venue. Reservations are highly recommended, especially for weekend rooftop brunch and night time visits. Guests staying at MOXY will receive priority rooftop access. The opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays are from 11.30 – 04.00.
