The bar is named after the ‘Horsefeather’, a Midwest favorite cocktail developed in the early 1900s, and we couldn’t resist trying it out. The drink was impeccably crafted and had a unique flavor that we both enjoyed.
The highlight of Horsefeather Social was undoubtedly the spectacular view of downtown Kansas City. We were mesmerized by the curves of the Kauffman Center reflecting off the hotel’s glass facade. It was truly a breathtaking sight that we couldn’t get enough of.
The bar’s menu offered a great selection of summery and handcrafted cocktails, as well as a thoughtfully selected wine list, craft beers, and elevated bites, such as pulled pork tacos and smoked brisket sliders. My sister couldn’t stop raving about the pulled pork tacos, which had just the right amount of spice and crunch.
Overall, Horsefeather Social is a perfect downtown summer destination for nights of fine drinks and views with friends. We were disappointed to learn that it is closed during the colder season, but we will definitely be visiting Bar Stilwell at the lobby level on our next trip to Kansas City.
