Last week, my girlfriend and I went to Above by Komune with some of our closest friends, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. As soon as we arrived, we were struck by the laidback and intimate atmosphere of this colorful rooftop bar located at the south coastline of Hong Kong Island. Away from the city center and on top of the 4-star Ovolo Southside, Above by Komune offers a different and lovely view over the city coastline, Wong Chuk Hang and the surrounding mountain peaks.
The terrace is quite small, but it’s so stylish and colorful that it creates a soft, garden-like setting. The greenery and lounge sofas add a touch of sophistication to the ambience. We loved the fact that Above by Komune is integrated with the Komune restaurant, which means that we got to enjoy all-day indoor and outdoor space serving both food and drinks. The food was delicious! We had breakfast, brunch, and South American sharing plates with an Asian touch, all of them were well-crafted and flavorful.
The signature cocktails are a must-try, they are so beautiful and delicious! My girlfriend and I are still raving about the drinks we had. We also enjoyed some craft beer that was one of the best we’ve ever tasted. The best part of our visit was on Thursday night when we got to enjoy acoustic live music, it was such a fantastic experience! Our friends also shared our excitement, they were all impressed by the amazing views and the calm and relaxing atmosphere.
