My sister and I recently visited Aroma Restaurant and were absolutely blown away. This Michelin-starred restaurant is situated on the rooftop of the luxurious Hotel Palazzo Manfredi and boasts breathtaking views of Rome’s historic sites, including a stunning close-up view of the Colosseum.

With only 28 seats, this restaurant has an intimate atmosphere that feels both exclusive and grandiose. We were immediately impressed by the gourmet food created by Chef Giuseppe Di Iorio. The á la carte menu was exceptional, but we decided to indulge in the tasting menu which came with the option of a sommelier to expertly pair each dish with the perfect wine. It was definitely pricey, but the experience was worth every penny.

Even if you’re not dining at the restaurant, it’s worth visiting the lounge bar for a glass of champagne or a cocktail. The rooftop terrace is reminiscent of a classic roof-garden, with retractable roofs and glass windows allowing for a year-round dining experience.

My sister particularly enjoyed the classic yet elegant interior design of the rooftop bar. The highlight for her was definitely the close-up view of the Colosseum. She couldn’t stop talking about it!
