National on the Top is hands down one of the most chic and stylish rooftop bars I’ve ever been to! My friends and I visited this hidden gem during our recent trip to Paris, and we were blown away by the stunning views of the Paris skyline from the top of Galeries Lafayette. The rooftop lounge is situated on top of the Hôtel National Des Arts et Métiers, which adds to the ambiance of the place.
The first thing that struck us was the small size of the place, but that only added to the exclusivity of the rooftop. With only 30 seats, we felt lucky to have secured a spot on one of the comfy lounge sofas. The seating also includes front-row bar stools, which makes for a great vantage point to gaze over the city.
The bar’s specialty is their crafted house cocktails, and I must say they were excellent! Each drink was an art in itself, and the bartenders were knowledgeable and skilled. They also offer premium selections ‘on the rocks,’ and some wine and bubbles. The only downside is that they do not serve any food, but that didn’t bother us as we were there purely for the drinks and view.
One thing I would recommend is making a reservation before visiting as the rooftop is quite exclusive. National on the Top is open nightly during the warmer season, starting from 5 pm on weekdays and 3 pm on weekends. If you want to catch the place at its best, then I would suggest visiting on Fridays and Saturdays as the opening hours are from 15.00 – 00.00.
