My girlfriend and I recently visited A38, and we were blown away by this unique rooftop venue. Not only is it a bar, but it’s also a restaurant, concert venue, and exhibition space. The location on top of an old Soviet rock carrier ship, right at the Petőfi Bridge on the Buda side, adds to the vibrant atmosphere.

We were lucky enough to visit during the summer months when the upper deck terrace was open, and the panoramic views of the Southern Pest were absolutely stunning. Buildings like Millennial Culture Center, University of Engineering, and the Liberty Bridge were visible, and it was a beautiful sight to behold.

The bar had a fantastic selection of assorted beverages, and the restaurant served delicious local and European food at very reasonable prices. However, what really stood out was the great atmosphere and the chance to see live DJs and many well-known bands and artists perform.

A38 is open daily from noon, and we enjoyed a relaxing lunch and drinks on the deck, taking in the sunshine and the beautiful view. As the night drew in, the vibe became much higher, and A38 became one of Budapest’s coolest clubs, with reggae, hip-hop, electronic, and house being played all night long.

Overall, we highly recommend A38 to anyone visiting Budapest. Whether you’re looking for a day out with the family or a night out with friends, A38 offers something for everyone. Make sure to check out the rooftop terrace for the best views and sunshine drinks on the river.
