What to wear for Slate Rooftop in Brooklyn? Dress Code for men and women

Last week, my girlfriend and I, accompanied by some of our best friends, headed over to Slate Rooftop, an outstanding new addition to the ever-growing NYC rooftop scene. Perched on top of the Pod Brooklyn in Williamsburg, one of New York’s most vibrant and trendy neighborhoods, Slate Rooftop is a must-visit venue for those seeking an unmatched rooftop experience.

The industrial chic and 125-seat terrace offer a mix of laid-back lounge spots, tables, and bar seating, all framed by panoramic views over Williamsburg and all the way to the Manhattan skyline. The ambiance was incredibly relaxing and sophisticated, making us feel like we were living in a movie.

The menu was a great highlight of this place, filled with specialty cocktails from Liquid Lab NYC, frose, and a rotating selection of beers on tap, as well as shareable dishes created by Executive Chef Darryl Harmon. We all could not resist trying out his creation, the Korean Spicy Cauliflower, and Philly Cheesesteak Empanadas. My girlfriend, being a pizza-freak, could not contain her joy on tasting the artisanal pizzas.

We highly recommend taking the stairway from Metropolitan Avenue to reach the rooftop, as it’s a great way to witness some of the local artist’s installations along the way. It’s eco-friendly, yet visually appealing, and matches the vibe of Slate Rooftop.

Our group had a great evening, and we were thrilled that Slate Rooftop offered so much more than just a place to grab a drink. It’s a destination that offers an experience that you won’t easily forget. Slate Rooftop undoubtedly deserves to be one of the alfresco go-to spots this summer. The opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays are from 13.00 – 00.30, and its address is 247 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11211.

Dress to Impress at Slate Rooftop

As a fashion expert, I know that dressing up for a rooftop is all about finding the perfect balance between style and comfort. With Slate Rooftop’s top-notch features, you want to look your best while enjoying the best views, food, and drinks. Here are my recommendations on what to wear for both men and women.

For Women:
When it comes to rooftop attire, it’s all about light and airy fabrics, bold prints, and vibrant colors. A flowy sundress or a relaxed jumpsuit paired with statement earrings and a colorful scarf is a perfect match for the laid-back and trendy atmosphere of Slate Rooftop. If you prefer pants, go for high-waisted wide-leg trousers paired with a crop top or a printed blouse. Complete your look with a pair of comfortable wedges or strappy sandals.

For Men:
Men should aim for a smart casual look. A short-sleeved button-down shirt paired with tailored shorts or pants is a great option. You can also opt for a polo shirt or a linen shirt with chinos or jeans. Dress up your outfit with a pair of loafers or sneakers for a more relaxed look.

Accessories:
Accessories can make or break an outfit, so choose wisely. For women, a tote bag or a clutch is perfect for carrying your essentials. A pair of oversized sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat add a touch of glamour. For men, a leather watch and sunglasses are essential for that classic and polished look.

Brands to consider:
For women, brands like Free People, Anthropologie, and Zara offer trendy and chic options for a rooftop affair. For men, try J.Crew, Bonobos, or Tommy Bahama for smart casual options.

With these tips, you’ll be sure to stand out at Slate Rooftop while feeling comfortable and stylish. Don’t forget to snap some pictures against the stunning backdrop of Brooklyn and Manhattan!
