New Amsterdam is a hidden gem nestled in the flourishing Lawrenceville area. My best friends and I decided to pay a visit to this multi-level neighborhood tap & table pub, and boy were we blown away! We had no idea that this place would become our new favorite hotspot to visit. With its low-key vibes and fine food and drinks, we were instantly enamored. However, what truly set it apart was the second floor rooftop terrace, which was added during a renovation in 2016.
As we made our way up to the rooftop, we were stunned by the breathtaking view of Butler Street that lay before us. The very cool brick wall acted as the perfect backdrop for our evening. The ambiance was sophisticated, yet relaxed at the same time. The staff was courteous and attentive, making us feel right at home.
The menu at New Amsterdam is an eclectic mix of fancy cocktails and a large selection of beers on tap and can, as well as a great selection of food. We ordered a few small plates to share, and they were absolutely divine! From the tangy chicken wings to the crisp bruschetta, every bite was a flavor explosion in our mouths. We also tried some of their more filling plates of sandwiches, burgers, and salads, and each dish was a true delight.
One of my friends recommended trying the Moscow Mule, and I have to say, it was the best I’ve ever tasted! The drink menu was extensive, and we were all impressed by the variety of cocktails and beers on offer.
