My best friends and I made our way to the 4th floor of the Godfrey Hotel Chicago, and were greeted by approximately 10,000 square feet of sheer sophistication. The indoor-outdoor layout of the rooftop bar was a fantastic touch, and the water features and fireplaces made the atmosphere all the more inviting.
The restaurant and bar menu is an upscale New American delight, with options ranging from succulent lamb lollichops to fresh sushi rolls. What’s more, the kitchen chef hand-crafted some of the most divine cocktails that we have ever had the pleasure of sipping on. And let’s not forget about the view! The southern Chicago skyline was visible in its full glory from our seats, and it was truly breathtaking.
One of the most impressive aspects of the I|O Godfrey Rooftop Lounge was the fact that it’s open year-round, thanks to the retractable roof and the rooftop igloos that are put up during the colder months. This means that we can come back time and time again, no matter the season. And while we were there, the service was impeccable. The staff were friendly and attentive, and ensured that we felt right at home.
Overall, we couldn’t recommend the I|O Godfrey Rooftop Lounge more. Whether it’s a weekday lunch, a weekend brunch or happy hour, this rooftop bar is the perfect choice. The opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays are from 11.00 – 02.00, so there’s ample opportunity to enjoy the stunning atmosphere and delicious food and drinks. It truly is one of the best rooftop bars in Chicago, and an experience that we will never forget.
