I recently had the pleasure of joining my best friend on her birthday celebration at the Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt rooftop pool deck and bar. The atmosphere was posh and sophisticated, with incredible views of Lady Bird Lake.
The rooftop pool was the highlight of the venue, equipped with sun loungers and trendy lounge furniture. We enjoyed the perfect pairing of snacks and drinks from the bar, which offered a wide variety of craft brews, cocktails and local spirits. The Austin inspired American cuisine from the restaurant next door was a delicious addition to our experience.
However, what truly stood out was the live music-focused restaurant Geraldine’s on the same floor. The restaurant was open most nights for dinner, and on weekends for rooftop brunch. We were delighted to please our ears with live acts every night. During winter, we even had the pleasure of being served in the cosy rooftop igloos.
The service was exceptional, with lots of non-alcoholic options such as fresh pressed juices from local producers. Although the pool and sun loungers were mainly for hotel guests, we were able to reserve poolside Cabanas or Day Passes as outsiders. The opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays were from 09.00 – Close, making it the perfect evening destination to celebrate with friends.

The venue exceeded our expectations, with the perfect combination of great food and drinks, live music, and stunning views.
