As a group of bougie best friends, we were thrilled to visit Alice’s Restaurant for some lakeside cuisine and cocktails. The charming venue is located by the gorgeous Lake Hopatcong, and we were excited to experience its byline ‘Food-Drink-Views’. We made our way to the second floor rooftop deck, and boy did we get a treat! The views over the lake were breathtaking, making us gasp in awe at the beauty of it all.
We learned that Alice’s was founded by a real Alice in 2008, and the restaurant offers a seasonal menu of made-to-order New American fare. From beef and seafood to vegetarian / vegan options, everything was deliciously cooked to perfection. The full-service bar with signature cocktails, wine and draft & bottled beers was a delight, and we found it hard to pick just one drink to enjoy.
Although Alice’s is only open for private and public events, we were lucky to visit during the warmer months when the rooftop terrace was in full swing. We recommend coming for a sunny lunch / brunch or dinner and cocktails while watching the sun set in Lake Hopatcong. However, during high season, the venue can get crowded. So, we suggest making reservations in advance to secure your spot in this enchanting place.
We also checked out the sister venue, Big Fish Lounge, which is one floor down. This year-round venue is the perfect place to relax and unwind with friends. With a full-sized bar, shuffleboard, 7 televisions, live music, and two regulation dartboards, we had a blast hanging out here.
All in all, we had an amazing experience at Alice’s Restaurant and Big Fish Lounge. From the delicious food, signature cocktails, and great views, we highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a bougie time with friends.
