My sister and I recently visited Tipsy Lion, the newest addition to the fantastic Sofitel Dubai Downtown’s range of great restaurants and bars. The open-air eatery and beer garden brought us plenty of British vibes and good ‘old fashioned fun to the heart of Dubai. The part indoor lounge which looked like a modern version of a classic British pub, and part lush and airy rooftop garden, was located on the 8th floor and offered great views over the Dubai skyline.

The rooftop bar offered a wide range of British food and international favourites, served as both bar bites and larger plates. The drink menu included signature cocktails (and signature sharing cocktails), a sepcial Jack Daniel’s cocktail menu and plenty of draft beers and wine. My sister particularly enjoyed the special Jack Daniel’s cocktail menu and the relaxed and vibrant atmosphere.

Aside from the food and drinks, Tipsy Lion also had a range of games for visitors to enjoy including pool and fussball. We also had the opportunity to listen to rocking live music during our visit. We were thrilled to learn about the weekly events, from daily Happy Hour (5-8pm) to Ladies Night and Friday Brunch. It was truly a packed and enjoyable experience.

Sofitel Dubai Downtown is a rooftop heaven, and close to Tipsy Lion, we discovered a spacious rooftop pool terrace, called Mosaic Pool Lounge. We were impressed by the incredibly luxurious decor and the amazing rooftop infinity pool. It was hard to say which was better between the two features, but we were convinced that the rooftop infinity pool is one of the very best rooftop pools Dubai has to offer.

I highly recommend booking a stay at the 5-star Sofitel Dubai Downtown to enjoy the perks of having a rooftop pool and a British gastropub and rooftop bar on your home ground. Overall, Tipsy Lion was an absolute highlight of our trip and we can’t wait to come back! It was truly a rooftop heaven!
