My friends and I had the pleasure of visiting Upendo House Zanzibar during our holiday trip, and we were blown away by the modern rooftop cocktail bar and restaurant, The 5th. This boutique hotel offers an authentic, hip and chic experience that is hard to find anywhere else in Zanzibar.
The rooftop experience at The 5th is truly unparalleled. The views over Stone Town and the ocean are absolutely breathtaking. We settled down in some of the comfortable lounge spots by the rooftop infinity pool and enjoyed some of the crafted signature cocktails made with seasonal fruits. It was an experience like no other. We even had the opportunity to make our own drinks, choosing from a wide range of liqueurs, fruits, spices and the final touch. The rooftop bar also serves plenty of wine and spirits, so there’s something for everyone.
The rooftop restaurant below is equally as impressive. The all day menu offers a mix of Indian, Swahili and Mediterranean gastronomy that is 100% homemade and filled with fresh and local ingredients. We couldn’t get enough of the delicious food, and we were impressed by the variety of options. On the weekends, The 5th even offers a rooftop brunch that is not to be missed.
The overall atmosphere of The 5th is trendy and soulful, with beats that are sure to keep you grooving throughout your visit. We were thrilled to have discovered such an elevated spot in Zanzibar, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable experience. Don’t miss out on this gem!
