SanDeck Rooftop: An Elegant and Chic All-Day Experience
My best friends and I had the pleasure of visiting SanDeck Rooftop, an all-day dining and drinking rooftop terrace, located on the 6th floor of the opulent Sandton Sun Hotel. This venue boasts several unique outdoor spaces and an awe-inspiring view of Johannesburg’s bustling skyline.
We were delighted to discover that SanDeck Rooftop offers both lunch and dinner, with an innovative take on South African cuisine. The dishes are served as sliders, sharing plates, as well as full meals. The flavours are fresh, authentic and truly amazing. Our taste buds were taken on a South African culinary journey that we will never forget.
The drink menu is also inspired by the local, offering a wide selection of South African beer, wines and spirits, which are also mixed into signature SAN cocktails. We indulged in their delicious drinks, including some of their signature cocktails, which were just heavenly!
The decoration of the San Deck rooftop bar is modern and stylish, with regular dining tables, front-row bar stool seats, lounge sofas, and very cosy bean bags right by the fireplace. The ambiance is sophisticated and chic, yet very comfortable and welcoming. We were immediately transported to a world of elegance and refinement.
With their generous opening hours, we were able to enjoy the rooftop terrace anytime of the day. However, we highly recommend visiting around sunset as the view is truly magical from up here. Alternatively, for a more vibrant atmosphere, visit between 6-10 pm on Thursday to Saturday when resident DJs take over the decks and bring the atmosphere to a more lively level. We danced the night away to amazing tunes, in the midst of an enchanting and sophisticated atmosphere.
If you are looking to enhance your experience, we recommend booking a stay at the Sandton Sun Hotel and enjoying the exclusive 6th floor rooftop pool. The pool is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 11.00 – 22.00, and it is undoubtedly worth your time.
Overall, our experience at SanDeck Rooftop was nothing short of exceptional. We enjoyed delicious food, divine drinks, an enchanting view, and sophisticated ambiance, all while being pampered by the impeccable service we received. We highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for an exceptional all-day rooftop dining and drinking experience.
