My girlfriend and I recently visited the Z Hotel in Zanzibar for a special evening out. We were blown away by the multi-level drinking and dining experience called Cinnamon & Rooftops. The lower level Cinnamon was set up as a restaurant with an impressive menu, while the top floor Rooftops offered both dining tables and comfy lounge sofas. It was the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy breathtaking views over the ocean and Nungwi Beach. We were fortunate enough to catch the magical Zanzibar sunset, which made the experience even more unforgettable.
The menu at Rooftops is filled with a variety of global food options. We enjoyed Asian inspired platters, sushi, western classics, and even some of Zanzibar’s famous Stone Town Masala dishes. Everything was delicious, and complemented perfectly by the fully stocked bar which offered a range of refreshing cocktails and imported drinks.
One of the highlights of our evening was the daily happy hour cocktails. We sipped on delicious drinks while taking in the fantastic sunset and listening to relaxed tunes played by the DJs on Wednesdays and Saturdays. It was a truly memorable experience.
I would highly recommend Rooftops to anyone visiting Zanzibar. Just be sure to arrive early to snag the best seats, as the venue works on a first come, first served basis. The opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays are from 12.30 – 22.00, and the address is Nungwi Beach. Trust me, the views and food are worth the visit.
