During our recent holiday trip, my friends and I had the pleasure of visiting the highest rooftop Tea House restaurant in Zanzibar, located in the historic Emerson on Hurumzi hotel, right in the heart of Stone Town. Our visit to the charming Rooftop Tea House restaurant was absolutely breathtaking, thanks to the panoramic 360° views of Stone Town and the Indian Ocean, visible from every angle.

Seating options were equally impressive, with seats on cushions by a low table or on regular height seats, all surrounded by the stunning views. Both lunch and dinner were served, but we highly recommend visiting during the evening, as the sunset views were simply magical. The set 3-course meal of Zanzibar cuisine fused with oriental Persian and Omani influences was exceptional, complete with cocktails and traditional Taarab performances.

We were informed that reservations are mandatory, as the terrace has limited seating. Dinner starts at 7 pm, but we strongly suggest arriving at 6 pm to soak in the spectacular views of the sea and city.

As an added bonus, we were advised to explore the Zanzibar Tea Ceremony at Roshani, located below the Rooftop Tea House. Additionally, we discovered that Emerson Spice, a sister hotel nearby, offers a very similar rooftop setting, making it a perfect alternative for a change of scenery.

Overall, our visit to the highest rooftop Tea House restaurant in Zanzibar was an unforgettable experience, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Stone Town.
