My boyfriend and I recently visited John Scotts Avenyn during our weekend getaway, and I must say, it was the perfect combination of a classic pub and a lovely rooftop terrace. The location is simply unbeatable, right in the heart of Gothenburg and occupying all three floors of a classic building.

The rooftop bar was the highlight of our visit for my boyfriend. He loved the relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and the fact that we could enjoy the sunshine while sipping on our drinks. Although the view wasn’t the best in town, we still enjoyed the sights of Gothenburg and the King’s Gate (Kungsporten).

The menu at John Scotts Avenyn was right up our alley, offering classic pub-style food like burgers and fish & chips along with an impressive selection of 28 different beers and ciders on draught. I also appreciated the good selection of whisky along with choices of classic cocktails and wine.

We highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a laid-back pub experience combined with a lovely rooftop terrace.
